BodyIntegrityDysphoria.com is launching a blog — and it’s not just for updates. It’s for you.
You’ll be able to share and submit:
🧍♂️ Real testimonies of lived experience with BID or related conditions
We welcome first-person narratives from individuals living with Body Integrity Dysphoria, as well as those navigating other forms of bodily dysphoria. Your story can be anonymous or signed, raw or reflective, brief or in-depth. Whether you’re sharing what it’s like to live with these feelings, how you’ve spoken to loved ones, or what kind of support you wish existed — your voice matters.
✨ Fantasy stories imagining a better world for people with bodily identity dysphoria
Have you ever imagined a society where people with BID are not pathologised but understood? A world where support, care, and autonomy are fundamental rights? We invite imaginative fiction and speculative writing that explores alternative realities — utopias or dystopias — where bodily identity is treated differently. Stories can be poetic, experimental, sci-fi-inspired, or deeply personal allegories. Creativity encouraged.
📰 Opinions on articles, research, and media coverage
Seen something in the media that sparked a reaction? Want to respond to a newly published study or offer your perspective on an academic debate? This section is for analytical takes, reflective opinion pieces, and commentaries on how BID is portrayed — in newspapers, journals, policy debates, or documentaries. Critical thinking and constructive insight welcome.
🔍 Reactions & critiques — even arguments against the recognition of BID and parallel conditions
We believe in open dialogue. That means we’re also open to publishing well-reasoned arguments that challenge the concept of BID or the legitimacy of medical recognition. If you’re concerned about social implications, diagnostic boundaries, or the ethics of treatment, we encourage you to contribute. Disagreement isn’t opposition — it’s an opportunity to think better, together. You can also respond to a previously published blog post — just reference the title and we’ll consider it for publication as a standalone reply.
