Expression of Interest
This notice constitutes a formal Expression of Interest for the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Body Integrity Dysphoria (BID) – 2026.
Expressions of interest are invited from both prospective speakers and potential attendees in order to assess anticipated participation and to inform the final structure of the event.
The deadline for submission is 31 May 2026.
Following the deadline:
Selected speakers will receive formal communication and invitations.
Official registration for attendees will open.
The final programme framework will be announced.
The precise date, venue, and format (in-person, online, or hybrid) will be confirmed.
The symposium is planned for Autumn 2026 (September–November).
The event seeks to bring together scholars, clinicians, researchers, ethicists, legal experts, and individuals with lived experience for rigorous and structured discussion on BID, bodily autonomy, clinical practice, ethics, and public understanding. The symposium is not confined to academic participation. It welcomes all those with a serious interest in questions of body ownership and their ethical and moral implications — whether scholars, clinicians, artists, independent researchers, activists, or members of the wider public engaged in these issues.
The intention is to foster meaningful engagement across both academic and public spheres, consistent with the mission of the BodyIntegrityDysphoria.com project. Whether perspectives converge or diverge, the objective is to advance informed discussion and cultivate responsible and substantive dialogue.
The symposium will be organised under the legal entity Corpus Sui (z. s.), a non-profit civic association devoted to interdisciplinary inquiry, public education, and structured engagement with complex questions of autonomy, embodiment, ethics, and social responsibility.
