We’ve finally launched our News, Media & Blog section, where we’ll be sharing updates, research highlights, media coverage, and more. We won’t just be covering news and events — this space also welcomes your submissions. Whether it’s a personal story, a critical reflection, or a creative piece, we invite you to join the conversation around Body Integrity Dysphoria (BID).

You’ll also be able to filter content by category, making it easier to explore topics that matter to you. Here’s a quick overview:

📢 News & Announcements

Updates from our team, major milestones, site developments, and relevant news in the field of BID research, advocacy, or visibility.

✍️ Blog Submissions

Contributions from the community. This is where your stories, essays, and reflections will be published (see below for how to submit).

🎙️ Media Coverage

Articles, interviews, documentaries, or academic press mentions related to BID and bodily identity — curated and discussed.

💡 Don’t miss the first two entries now live in the blog!
The first post — “We’re Building a Blog — and You Can Be Part of It” — includes submission guidelines and a breakdown of the types of content we’re looking for, from lived experiences to imaginative fiction and critical analysis.

The second post — “Why Virtual Reality Exposure Isn’t Necessarily an Ethical, Harm-Free Alternative to BID Surgery” — is our first community-submitted piece. Written by Matthew Williams, a PhD student at the University of Birmingham, it explores the ethical and psychological complexities of VR-based interventions for BID and argues why caution is warranted.

Submissions are already open.

🛠️ Stay tuned — major updates are on the way.
We’re currently working on revising the overall website aesthetic, improving navigation, and introducing new features to better serve both our community and visitors. This is just the beginning — more improvements are coming soon.
