Hey all! I’m BlueFin, a mid 20s college kid. There isn’t really anything exciting about my life. I’ve got a few cats, enjoy gaming, I read occasionally though I’d like to read more.
My need has always been hearing loss, ever since I was a kid. My current goal is hearing loss to the degree of needing hearing aids. My original goal was basically complete hearing loss and needing cochlear implants, but I’ve decided to set a smaller goal for now.
It’s nice to find a community around BID because I’m so incredibly isolated from my friends and family when it comes to BID.
Hi BlueFin,
You're not alone. I've been an amputee wannabe (LAK) for over fifty years and it's hard. It's hard to feel normal with BID in your head. I have no idea what your experience with BID is like, but I know what it's like to feel so different and isolated. It's hard playing a role you never auditioned for when you just want it all to stop so you can be yourself. At least that's how I feel.
I've seen so many posts lately from people in their 20s expressing their struggles with BID. I have three kids, all in their 20s, and it would break my heart knowing they were going through something like this without support. I'm glad you found this community. I hope it helps just to say it out loud, even if it's online.
Best,
Clark
