Hi, I'm sharing my introduction here as per the rules' suggestion. Growing up I always felt really icky seeing my own hands, and I would try to avoid looking at them at all costs, especially my left hand. (I think it's the left one at least? I'm dyspraxic so I forget which is which, but whatever.) Recently about a few years ago this welled up into more intense feelings of not wanting that arm at all, and not wanting to see in the eye on the same side. To skip a lot of the inbetween to keep it brief, I now wear an eyepatch on said eye full-time and save a lot of money only having to buy 6 monthly contacts instead of 12. With my arm, I typically just ignore it, but there's still this weird droning background feeling that it's tacked onto my body and shouldn't be there. Physically, it feels different from the other arm. I come here looking for dysphoria-relieving advice because someone asked for it in a community I'm in, and I figured some of the topics here would be helpful to them.Â
