Excellent – there's been so much research activity lately. Really encouraging to see. I do wonder how we might further boost visibility around these kinds of initiatives. They deserve wider attention.

Laura is very easy to talk to. We had a rather good conversation that lasted a little longer than anticipated. Seemed legit. Found compassion and empathy in her understanding of the condition. I didn’t want the 50€. It’s not about the money for me.

I encourage everyone to take the time and help further the discussion.

@azumi She is researching whether therapy helps alleviate a person's BID need.  It is important because, for the most part, we know the only thing to help with the dysphoria is for one to get what they need, but the medical community thinks that we all need therapy.  Therapy will only help people who are depressed and or anxious, but will not help with the BID dysphoria itself.  Therapy has helped people accept that they have this need and feel they should accept it and not feel ashamed.  So, it is important research that should be done.  If you took therapy for BID, think of helping her out with her research.

@azumi she will ask for banking information for the 50€ and thank you for being brave enough to talk about it. Data is collected anonymously and kept for a period of time, then destroyed.

Honestly I do not need any kind/sort of therapy "of conversion" (or reparative therapies) in the goal to change my mind or being on a datalist survey. I may be "crazy" on many things/points, but I have always respected my choices and my needs. I have accepted/talked of my DAK since my 11 yo but what next, nothing change. Each time I see someone amputed, images, or reading someone who had succeeded it's like... pure devilish jealousy. Life is changing, the world is changing ; things and approaches must be changed too. So if that... Laura is not helping me at ol to reach my goal, why should I help her as a rat-lab ? "(¬ . ¬)"

@azumi You're missing the point with Laura's research.  The fact that she should find out is that therapy does not help to eliminate one's dysphoria.  The medical community believes people who suffer from BID are delusional and need therapy and drugs.  To have someone researching whether therapy is going to help or not is the point.  If she does research and finds that it is of no use for BID sufferers, it is one more thing that the medical community will have to understand that they are wrong.
